This weekend I had a blast with some good ole boys from Mississippi . Mr John his son Lil John, uncle John and Mr Rodney fished and caught limits of red fish with me for 2 days With 2 days of limits of red fish they headed home with an ice chest full if file-ts . What a great bunch of guys to fish with Thanks guys I look forward to seeing y’all in October . I had a trip For Monday but with tropical storm Issac threatening we called it off. Another good weekend of fishing New Orleans red fish in Lafitte , Louisiana . The fish have been cooperating and the weather has been too sometimes . We had a couple of thunderstorms come through this weekend but not enough to stop us from catching fish . If I see the weather is gonna have rain in it I stay close to an area where we can get out of it by going to one of the fish camps . Once the weather passes we go back to fishing. The red fish have been healthy in size and numbers . This weekend we mainly fished with blk/chart baby bull minnows on a 1/4 oz jig head just swimming the bait. 7-9-2012 TEXAS GUYS VS RED FISH IN NEW ORLEANS
Monday I fished Mr Ron , Mr Leroy , and Mr Robert from south Texas .With some thunder storms in the area that I’ve been fishing red fish I took a ride south and fished for trout . After catching a few throw backs and 14 keepers and hooked into a 20# drum the weather cleared to the north and off we went in search for the reds . The water was clear but low so the bite was a lil slow but we ended up with 19 keepers and a bunch of throw backs that didn’t make the size limit. Fishing in New Orleans with weedless spoons is a very effective way to fish the grass beds for red fish . The red fish were between 16-22″ which are the best for the grill or frying . If you’ve never been on a New Orleans fishing Charter it a must do if visiting New Orleans . Its lots of fun and affordable for all . We accommodate all from the experienced or the fist timers . Well despite the weather and the fish not cooperating I had a grand time this weekend with my customers. Saturday the wind blew 30+ and stormy it had everything muddied up and the fish stirred up, same goes for Sunday with just a lil less wind . I don’t like posting reports like this but the fact are the facts it was a tough couple of days . Both days we caught fish just not the quality of fish that we have been catching. All trips cant be cherry ,With good customers we still had a good time on the water . Fathers day was nice I had all the In laws over for a late lunch and a lil family time . Ok so this week has been a busy one .I hate going days without posting reports but it happens . The week has been full with limits of red fish from 16″-27″ caught on anything from spoons and spinner baits to market shrimp on the bottom . I fish to the weather and customers. Last 2 day have been fun . Yesterday I had Mr. Joey and his family in for a great day of fishing. Capt Roy and I had a great time fishing these guys with lots of action and just as many jokes going around the boat. Catching red fish between 16-27″ the fight was on. Thanks Guys for the fun day hope to see y’all again soon. Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Mr Tom and Mrs Tracy from Missouri . With weather closing in from the West we were pressed for time before the rain may set in. We got to the first spot and Mrs Tracy caught a fish on the second cast and the fight was on . We caught our limit and the weather started to get closer so they decided to take it in on a good note. The fish were between 16-27″ This the first time for both Mr. Tom or Mrs Tracy fishing red fish and they loved it . 5-8-12 BACK ON THE WATER CATCHING LIMITS OF RED FISH
After being down for a week I’m back on the water and it feel good to be back on the boat. Thanks to Capt Roy for helping while I was down. Taking care of my customers and catching fish. Last day the Iowa guys wanted to fish trout. With a bunch of lil trout biting they decided to go back after the reds. Wise choose cause they smoked em. Saturday I had Mr. Chase and 9 of his buddies in for a good day of fishing. Still unable to fish I wanna Thank Capt Donovan, Capt Roy, And Capt Austin for helping me with them guys and catching a bunch of reds. They had a grand time. Fishing New Orleans is a lot of fun and this city has so many other things to do as well. A good friend of mine Mr Johnny, his son Steve and their friend Mr Roy were in town for the Jazz Festival and decided to come fish Sunday. The morning looked promising with bird diving and shrimp popping the trout were on. A Lot of school trout but lots of action. After moving around a lil we got into some good trout. Wouldn’t ya know it, a water spout and weather building, time to head north for some reds. After running from the ran we ended the day with 24 trout and 11 nice red fish.(and stayed dry). Monday I had the pleasure of fishing Mr Tab, his son Wade, and their friend Mr Andy. The bite was a lil slow but we ended up with our limit of red fish in the ice chest and back at the dock before the rain came. The red fish have been between 16-25 ” Fishing has been good and I don’t expect it to do anything but get better. May is a very good month to fish in New Orleans. 3-20-12 FISHING NEW ORLEANS WINDY WEATHER RED FISH !!!!!
Fishing has been good and Ive been doing doubles for the last 4 days .Today I had off but back at it again tomorrow if the weather permits . The weather has been the main issue but it hasn’t stop us from catching red fish . For the most part the fish have been 16-24″ but I had a few fish in the last week that went 8-10lbs With the winds and the increasing winds we have been catching fish with market shrimp under a cork. The water is stirred up , the fish are there just need to get a stink cricket out there for em. Hopefully the rain stays to the north tomorrow and I can get out to fish . The weekend is pretty busy and I’m looking forward to it . Then I have a couple days off (for Now). I had the pleasure of fishing with a couple of good friends Wednesday . Despite the wind blowing 30 mph we had a blast fishing tight line with spoons and plastics. Catching mostly redfish 16″-20″ range with the occational bass and speckle trout biting . Its almost March and the weather is right , the fish are biting and its time to fish. Let me share some of the fun we’re having here at one of the best Louisiana fishing charters…
OK here we are 2012. WOW!! Hope every one had a wonderful Holiday and a great New Year. Down here in South Louisiana we don’t usually get a long winter. But this year it’s like no winter at all a few cold days here and there but for the most part its been really nice. With nice weather you get nice fish . I fished a couple days ago with a friend and caught some nice reds. Lafitte fishing is some of the best fishing in south Louisiana from the hard fighting red fish to the paper mouth speckled trout . we are catching fish and gearing up for the spring fishing . I’ve been booking trips so don’t miss out this year on the dates you want, give me a call and let go fishing. If this year is anything like last year we are gonna have a good time and I cant wait to see old friends and make some new ones.
