New Orleans’ red fish are stacked up and biting good . Ive fished most of the week and the red fish are everywhere and the action has been hot . We have been fishing with everything from shrimp on the bottom or under a cork to soft plastics . The weather has been just right 76-84 degrees with a light breeze . Today I had Mr Bruce his wife Mrs Lensey, their son Brad and his girlfriend Ashley. New Orleans fishing in September is usually kinda warm but this last week has been very pleasant and the fish have been biting good. Today we did very well with the red fish catching 25 for the ice chest and a 3# flounder. The gang was very happy with today’s catch. Yesterday Capt Roy and I had the pleasure of meeting and fishing with the crew from Dalton Carpet One . Capt Roy had Mr.John , Mr Eddie, and Mr Mike . I had Miss Whitney , Mr Chris and Mr Danny . I can’t give you a number of fish that we caught cause we were catching and releasing but I will tell yall we caught well over our limit and them some. The fish were bittiung all day long on plastics , spoons and shrimp. The red fish are there and we caught em. Another good weekend of fishing New Orleans red fish in Lafitte , Louisiana . The fish have been cooperating and the weather has been too sometimes . We had a couple of thunderstorms come through this weekend but not enough to stop us from catching fish . If I see the weather is gonna have rain in it I stay close to an area where we can get out of it by going to one of the fish camps . Once the weather passes we go back to fishing. The red fish have been healthy in size and numbers . This weekend we mainly fished with blk/chart baby bull minnows on a 1/4 oz jig head just swimming the bait. 7-28-2012 HAMILTON FAMILY FISHING REDS IN NEW ORLEANS
I had the pleasure of fishing the Hamilton family from Mississippi Monday and Tuesday . Monday with the chance of thunder storms I stayed in the marsh fishing in protected water and near some camps in case we had to take cover from rain . We caught good but just shy of our 25 red limit. Tuesday with the weather clearing and no wind I went back to the grass beds and had our limit of red fish for 9:45 . It was a fun couple of days with them . Thanks Y’all and I look forward to seeing y’all again soon. I fished yesterday and it was a tough day of fishing with some weather pressing in from the north west the fish were skittish I tried everything from spoons to plastic and to the shrimp under a cork . They just didn’t wanna bite. We caught enough for them to go have cooked at a local restaurant and they were happy with that . You can’t catch em everyday I guess but it wasn’t from a lack of trying. After a few phone calls to some friend it sounded like everyone was having a rough time . Well I’m off today but back on the water tomorrow and Monday . 7-22-2012 CATCHING RED FISH IN NEW ORLEANS
Well it was a wet weekend fishing in New Orleans, but that doesn’t stop Louisiana fishing guides. The rain turned some of the customers around but the ones who decided to stick it out and fish did well. The fishing Friday and Saturday was good till the rain came at noon both days. Fishing in area that had some camps close by we were able to get out the rain till they passed . I’ve fished a different area this weekend due to the weather so I changed my tactic up a lil . We were fishing with blk/chart baby bull minnow on a 1/4 oz jig head . Friday we had 10 reds and 7 bass, Saturday we had 15 reds and 10 bass today I took my son and wife for a lil while and my son was able to catch his first red fish It wasn’t a monster red but a 17″red fish to a 3 yr old is a monster. 7-9-2012 TEXAS GUYS VS RED FISH IN NEW ORLEANS
Monday I fished Mr Ron , Mr Leroy , and Mr Robert from south Texas .With some thunder storms in the area that I’ve been fishing red fish I took a ride south and fished for trout . After catching a few throw backs and 14 keepers and hooked into a 20# drum the weather cleared to the north and off we went in search for the reds . The water was clear but low so the bite was a lil slow but we ended up with 19 keepers and a bunch of throw backs that didn’t make the size limit. Fishing in New Orleans with weedless spoons is a very effective way to fish the grass beds for red fish . The red fish were between 16-22″ which are the best for the grill or frying . If you’ve never been on a New Orleans fishing Charter it a must do if visiting New Orleans . Its lots of fun and affordable for all . We accommodate all from the experienced or the fist timers . 4th Of July Fishing In New Orleans With A Bang
Today was a good day to be on the water fishing here in New Orleans . Its the 4th of July and to be able to do what I do for a living makes me proud to be an American . Today I had the Falcon family with me Mr Will his son Will Jr and daughter Sahra from New Orleans and I had Capt roy helping me with Mr Eddie and Mr John on his boat from Nevada . With a light breeze the weather couldn’t have been any better and the fish were hungry . With both boats having our limits of red fish for 9 am It was gonna be hard to make this day any better. After catching our limits we continued to fish catching plenty more reds and enjoying the day . All red fish were caught on weedless spoons and were in the 20″-27″ range . Everyone had a blast . 6-25-2012WINDY BUT GREAT WEEK OF FISHING IN NEW ORLEANS
Fishing this week was great a lil windy but very productive with limits of red fish coming into the dock ever trip every day. I started fishing Thursday and fished through to Sunday . Thursday and Friday I had Capt Dave and Capt Donovan help me out with some guys that came in last min and they were able to catch their limits of red fish and a few trout as well . Thanks Guys Ya’ll did great job . Saturday I had Capt Dave help out again with another last min Fishing trip coming in late Friday night . Saturday and Sunday were both very windy but the back water marsh that I’ve been fishing provided plenty of cover from the wind and held fish all weekend. When Fishing In New Orleans you always have the possibility of strange and unpredictable weather but always a good time . The red fish we have been catching have been mixed up in sizes but all of them put up a fight that is anything short of a battle . I do fish with light tackle and the action is hot and exciting on light tackle . Well despite the weather and the fish not cooperating I had a grand time this weekend with my customers. Saturday the wind blew 30+ and stormy it had everything muddied up and the fish stirred up, same goes for Sunday with just a lil less wind . I don’t like posting reports like this but the fact are the facts it was a tough couple of days . Both days we caught fish just not the quality of fish that we have been catching. All trips cant be cherry ,With good customers we still had a good time on the water . Fathers day was nice I had all the In laws over for a late lunch and a lil family time .
