Fishing this week was great a lil windy but very productive with limits of red fish coming into the dock ever trip every day. I started fishing Thursday and fished through to Sunday . Thursday and Friday I had Capt Dave and Capt Donovan help me out with some guys that came in last min and they were able to catch their limits of red fish and a few trout as well . Thanks Guys Ya’ll did great job . Saturday I had Capt Dave help out again with another last min Fishing trip coming in late Friday night . Saturday and Sunday were both very windy but the back water marsh that I’ve been fishing provided plenty of cover from the wind and held fish all weekend. When Fishing In New Orleans you always have the possibility of strange and unpredictable weather but always a good time . The red fish we have been catching have been mixed up in sizes but all of them put up a fight that is anything short of a battle . I do fish with light tackle and the action is hot and exciting on light tackle . Well despite the weather and the fish not cooperating I had a grand time this weekend with my customers. Saturday the wind blew 30+ and stormy it had everything muddied up and the fish stirred up, same goes for Sunday with just a lil less wind . I don’t like posting reports like this but the fact are the facts it was a tough couple of days . Both days we caught fish just not the quality of fish that we have been catching. All trips cant be cherry ,With good customers we still had a good time on the water . Fathers day was nice I had all the In laws over for a late lunch and a lil family time . 6-13-2012 RED FISH AND STORMY WEATHER HERE IN NEW ORLEANS
New Orleans fishing at its finest . Its been another busy week of fishing here in Lafitte . The weather hasn’t been ideal this past week but we pulled through it with lots of red fish being caught . Fishing everything from spoons to shrimp on the bottom and every thing in between. The red fish have been varying in size from 16″-29 ” depending on where the wind would alow me to fish. Yesterday I changed up my fishing method and found some fish in the ponds and good reds all around 23″average perfect for the grill. I even got into some trout yesterday . June is usually a month of hot temps but with the breeze its been nice . With Fathers day approaching the weekend is gonna be a busy one . I still have a few days open in this month and with my buddy captain Roy on the water now we have another boat able to fish so we should be able to get you on the water and catching some nice Louisiana red fish . Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Eric , Jake ,Larry and Sudeep from California who were in New Orleans to enjoy some good ,fun and fishing. With the tide on the switch around the bite was slow but we managed to get the six red they wanted to eat then fished catch and release. It was a steady day of fishing with red fish and then speckle trout . I had a blast with these guys . Another successful couple of days of fishing red fish here near New Orleans . Thanks to Mr Andy with his 5 friends on Sunday and Mr Todd and his son Grant today . With the bad weather moving through Saturday The water muddied up and we had to use bait (market shrimp) but with the same results . LIMITS OF RED FISH The fish are here and hungry. 4020-12 FISHING REDFISH IN LOUISIANA
This week I’ve had the pleasure of fishing with Mr. Hank , his brother Jeremy and Mr Dave on Thursday and Dan and his buddy David on Friday . Both day we got into some speckle trout with a lot of lil ones the action was constant . After catching enough to fill a bag with fillets we moved on to fishing red fish and catching a mixture of sizes . From 15-30+” fish . New Orleans fishing has been good and getting better . The weather has been a lil up and down but for the most part its been good. The last week hasn’t been what you would call ideal conditions . With a system moving in from the West early in the week. We have been dealing with high winds and low tides. Even though the weather has been uncooperative we have been catching fish ,RED FISH Its been a week of fishing hard with good rewards. Things are settling back down and the tide is back to normal. 3-28-12 Mr Mark and Matt Fishing New Orleans
Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Mr. Mark and his son Matt from Alberta Canada. This would be there first red fishing trip and the first fish we caught was an 8lb red fish . Nice way to start the trip. As the day went on the bite was slow with 9 keeper reds 3 bass ,3 trout and a lot of 15″ red fish that were just under size we had a fun day on the water . 3-24-12 ARKANSAS BOY FISHING IN NEW ORLEANS AGAIN
This weekend I had the pleasure of having some good friends down from Arkansas again . Every year they come down fish a couple of day we go to the crawfish cook off and have a good time. And this year wasn’t any different. We fished 2 days in the shallow water with artificial and caught some good red fish. There wasn’t anything fast about it but the bite was steady . With most of the fish in the 17-22″ range we did hook up to the occasional 25-30″ fish .The trout are starting to show up and with the nice weather in the forcast im sure there wi With good fishing and good company what more could a guy ask for. If you’ve never fished New Orleans at this time of year you don’t know what your missing . 3-20-12 FISHING NEW ORLEANS WINDY WEATHER RED FISH !!!!!
Fishing has been good and Ive been doing doubles for the last 4 days .Today I had off but back at it again tomorrow if the weather permits . The weather has been the main issue but it hasn’t stop us from catching red fish . For the most part the fish have been 16-24″ but I had a few fish in the last week that went 8-10lbs With the winds and the increasing winds we have been catching fish with market shrimp under a cork. The water is stirred up , the fish are there just need to get a stink cricket out there for em. Hopefully the rain stays to the north tomorrow and I can get out to fish . The weekend is pretty busy and I’m looking forward to it . Then I have a couple days off (for Now).
