Fishing this week was great a lil windy but very productive with limits of red fish coming into the dock ever trip every day. I started fishing Thursday and fished through to Sunday . Thursday and Friday I had Capt Dave and Capt Donovan help me out with some guys that came in last min and they were able to catch their limits of red fish and a few trout as well . Thanks Guys Ya’ll did great job . Saturday I had Capt Dave help out again with another last min Fishing trip coming in late Friday night . Saturday and Sunday were both very windy but the back water marsh that I’ve been fishing provided plenty of cover from the wind and held fish all weekend. When Fishing In New Orleans you always have the possibility of strange and unpredictable weather but always a good time . The red fish we have been catching have been mixed up in sizes but all of them put up a fight that is anything short of a battle . I do fish with light tackle and the action is hot and exciting on light tackle . Well despite the weather and the fish not cooperating I had a grand time this weekend with my customers. Saturday the wind blew 30+ and stormy it had everything muddied up and the fish stirred up, same goes for Sunday with just a lil less wind . I don’t like posting reports like this but the fact are the facts it was a tough couple of days . Both days we caught fish just not the quality of fish that we have been catching. All trips cant be cherry ,With good customers we still had a good time on the water . Fathers day was nice I had all the In laws over for a late lunch and a lil family time . 6-13-2012 RED FISH AND STORMY WEATHER HERE IN NEW ORLEANS
New Orleans fishing at its finest . Its been another busy week of fishing here in Lafitte . The weather hasn’t been ideal this past week but we pulled through it with lots of red fish being caught . Fishing everything from spoons to shrimp on the bottom and every thing in between. The red fish have been varying in size from 16″-29 ” depending on where the wind would alow me to fish. Yesterday I changed up my fishing method and found some fish in the ponds and good reds all around 23″average perfect for the grill. I even got into some trout yesterday . June is usually a month of hot temps but with the breeze its been nice . With Fathers day approaching the weekend is gonna be a busy one . I still have a few days open in this month and with my buddy captain Roy on the water now we have another boat able to fish so we should be able to get you on the water and catching some nice Louisiana red fish . Ok so this week has been a busy one .I hate going days without posting reports but it happens . The week has been full with limits of red fish from 16″-27″ caught on anything from spoons and spinner baits to market shrimp on the bottom . I fish to the weather and customers. Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Eric , Jake ,Larry and Sudeep from California who were in New Orleans to enjoy some good ,fun and fishing. With the tide on the switch around the bite was slow but we managed to get the six red they wanted to eat then fished catch and release. It was a steady day of fishing with red fish and then speckle trout . I had a blast with these guys . Another successful couple of days of fishing red fish here near New Orleans . Thanks to Mr Andy with his 5 friends on Sunday and Mr Todd and his son Grant today . With the bad weather moving through Saturday The water muddied up and we had to use bait (market shrimp) but with the same results . LIMITS OF RED FISH The fish are here and hungry. 5-8-12 BACK ON THE WATER CATCHING LIMITS OF RED FISH
After being down for a week I’m back on the water and it feel good to be back on the boat. Thanks to Capt Roy for helping while I was down. Taking care of my customers and catching fish. Last day the Iowa guys wanted to fish trout. With a bunch of lil trout biting they decided to go back after the reds. Wise choose cause they smoked em. Saturday I had Mr. Chase and 9 of his buddies in for a good day of fishing. Still unable to fish I wanna Thank Capt Donovan, Capt Roy, And Capt Austin for helping me with them guys and catching a bunch of reds. They had a grand time. Fishing New Orleans is a lot of fun and this city has so many other things to do as well. A good friend of mine Mr Johnny, his son Steve and their friend Mr Roy were in town for the Jazz Festival and decided to come fish Sunday. The morning looked promising with bird diving and shrimp popping the trout were on. A Lot of school trout but lots of action. After moving around a lil we got into some good trout. Wouldn’t ya know it, a water spout and weather building, time to head north for some reds. After running from the ran we ended the day with 24 trout and 11 nice red fish.(and stayed dry). Monday I had the pleasure of fishing Mr Tab, his son Wade, and their friend Mr Andy. The bite was a lil slow but we ended up with our limit of red fish in the ice chest and back at the dock before the rain came. The red fish have been between 16-25 ” Fishing has been good and I don’t expect it to do anything but get better. May is a very good month to fish in New Orleans. 5-3-12 Iowa Guys Fishing New Orleans Red Fish
Capt Roy is doing a great job with Mr Gary , Mr, Dan , Mr Chris and Mr Mike from Iowa . I am still recovering from an appendix surgery but should be back on the water in a couple of days . 2days of fishing with limits of red fish both days . Keep up the good work guys. 4020-12 FISHING REDFISH IN LOUISIANA
This week I’ve had the pleasure of fishing with Mr. Hank , his brother Jeremy and Mr Dave on Thursday and Dan and his buddy David on Friday . Both day we got into some speckle trout with a lot of lil ones the action was constant . After catching enough to fill a bag with fillets we moved on to fishing red fish and catching a mixture of sizes . From 15-30+” fish . New Orleans fishing has been good and getting better . The weather has been a lil up and down but for the most part its been good. 4-16-2012 WINDY WEATHER REDS FISH
The last week hasn’t been what you would call ideal conditions . With a system moving in from the West early in the week. We have been dealing with high winds and low tides. Even though the weather has been uncooperative we have been catching fish ,RED FISH Its been a week of fishing hard with good rewards. Things are settling back down and the tide is back to normal.
