Capt Roy and I both fished the last 2 days with muddy water ,low tides and wind . Its been a rough 2 days fishing in New Orleans after a big cold front blew through . Despite the conditions we were still able to put some fish in the box and have a good time . The winds have shifted back to the south and the water and temps are coming up . Fishing will be good in the next day or 2. Tomorrow its supposed to be in the 70’s and light winds . Since my last report Capt Roy and I have been fish a lot and the spring fishing in New Orleans . We have been catching red fish and some trout all depends on the weather . This week end while fishing trout bot of us have caught a big bull red and seen shrimp popping . That’s a GOOD sign . With a late cold front blowing through The temps have dropped and so has the water but we are still catching fish here in New Orleans . The weather is shaping up fast and we will be back on the water tomorrow putting fish in the boxes. NEW ORLEANS FISHING REPORT FOR FEBUARY !!
I’ve been fishing pretty steady the last month and have been catching good numbers of fish . Mostly speckle trout with a few reds and drum mixed in the box . The weather has been up and down with the stream of late cold fronts blowing through every other week . Despite the weather changes we have been able to keep the fish coming into the boat. As we progress into spring the weather is going to settle down and the red fish should be ready to scream some lines. March is looking good, I have a couple days still open and I’m running 2 boats now with Capt Roy so your availability to fish New Orleans has just doubled . NEW ORLEANS FISHING,SUPERBOWL AND MARDI GRAS
This weekend New Orleans was a busy city with the Super Bowl and Mardi Gras all at the same time . I had the pleasure of fishing with a few of the visitors from all over who gathered in our town. Friday I had the Vista Equity Partners group 65 people and 21 boats. I wanna Thank all my friends and fellow Captains who helped me with this trip and making it such a success. Everybody caught fish and had a good time . Saturday I fished Mr Wiggs , Mr Dan ,and Mr Phil from Tennessee. We had a mixed bag of fish with 25 specle trout , 6 sheephead and 4 drum . Sunday Mr Ken and Mr Jerry fished with me . Ending the day with a box of fish 51 speckle trout ,4 sheep heads , a flounder, a flat head cat , and one keeper red fish . Monday I had the pleasure of fishing with Justin and Ben . After catching 54 trout and 2 keeper reds we headed in to beat the rain approaching. I had a great time with all my customers this weekend . NEW ORLEANS WINDY WEATHER MIXED BAG OF FISH
Yesterday Capt Roy and I had the pleasure of fishing with the guys from Security Detection . They were in town getting all the metal detectors in place for the Super Bowl. Fishing in New Orleans ya never know what the weather is gonna be like. Yesterday we had a nice breeze and mid 60’s temps . First we went for trout with just a few being caught on each boat so we decided to try our hand on some red fish . End result was 27 black drum , 12 sheephead, 32 trout , 3 catfish and 2 red fish . What we call a “MIXED BAG OF FISH” Everybody enjoyed the day on the water. Yesterday I had the pleasure of fishing with some customers that fished with me a few years ago . It was a fun day of catching up and catching fish with Brain , , and Blake from Houston TX. Last time they were in New Orleans Fishing we caught a bunch of nice speckle trout . With hopes of catching some trout we ran out and found some clean water . FISH ON right of the bat. We ended up with 51 speckle trout 15 black drum and 4 red fish .All in all a good day of fishing . The weather was nice in the 70’s with a breeze and lots of sun. NEW OREANS FALL RED FISH RUN
This week has been a very good week of fishing in New Orleans except Friday . Friday was the second day of a front blowing through and the water was muddy all over . Now we did catch fish but it wasn’t easy . Saturday through yestertday the fishing has beeen great with limits of red fish and a few specks to boot . The specks have showed up a lil every where some cxaptain have been catching limits of them . My customers have been wanting reds so thats what we have been chasing . October is always a good month for fishing with red fish and speckle trout everywhere and the weather so nice its hard not to wanna fish in New Orleans at this time . South Carolina Boys with New Orleans Speckle Trout and Red Fish
This evening I had the pleasure of fishing with Mr Walks , Mr Cleve , and Mr James from South Carolina . We had a very productive day of fishing . Catch and release we caught 125 Keeper trout and 15 red fish . The fish were on this evening . New Orleans’ red fish are stacked up and biting good . Ive fished most of the week and the red fish are everywhere and the action has been hot . We have been fishing with everything from shrimp on the bottom or under a cork to soft plastics . The weather has been just right 76-84 degrees with a light breeze .
